Bathing Needs

One important feature to consider in the interior design of bathrooms is the bathing needs of the entire family. If space is limited, and you rarely if ever take the time to soak in a tub, for instance, an interior designer might suggest the replacement of a large bathtub with a simple shower stall. This will save on space and make your bathroom appear more open and less claustrophobic. A modern kitchen design can be absolutely anything you want it to be and don't let anyone else tell otherwise. Truly modern kitchens all have very different features and design characteristics.

You might have heard that you have to follow a set of standard rules in order to achieve a truly modern kitchen design. This isn't necessarily the case. Of course there are some things that apply across the board.

For instance most modern kitchens have bespoke features that are tailored to suit your specific needs. These might be clever storage solutions or other things that make life in your kitchen easier. But this illustrates perfectly my point about modern kitchens in that they can look or feel however you want them to.

Don't listen to people who say your modern kitchen design has to be cold and soulless. This is a common myth of contemporary kitchens that won't go away. You can still create a really inviting kitchen even with all your super modern appliances and units fitted.

Some people combine their desire for a modern kitchen design with a central theme. For instance, you can create an Italian kitchen design with marble surfaces and tiled floors that still has all the modern appliances cleverly built in.

If the idea of a modern kitchen design doesn't immediately grab you, then don't get caught up in trying to get everything you want into a sleek contemporary kitchen. You might want more rustic features and a homely feel that is more traditional. Remember, it's your kitchen and you shouldn't make any compromises on what you want.
